Membership Drive Kick Off – March 1, 2019

Just this week HLCA kicked of the 2019 membership drive. Membership letters have been sent out to 625 property owners on Haliburton, Oblong and Ross Lakes. Last year was very successful. Please watch our 7 min video called “HLCA 2018 – Year in Review” at on our home page above. Our membership levels increased by 10% last to about 380, currently membership is about 60%, paying 100% of the benefits to all property owners.

The HLCA does many, many beneficial things for the lake community. When you decide weather or not to join please imagine what our community would be like without the services, events, and advocacy the HLCA has to offer. Can you picture what it would be like without the navigation markers no longer placed and replaced throughout the boating season, the boat ramps not maintained or gone? Can you picture cancellation of the Canada Day Fireworks, or the Regatta festival, or even the loss of the ability to offer swimming lessons to our children, plus mid week children’s activities? What if there was the loss of ongoing communications and advocacy on many issues such as environmental, roads and the landfill? Did you know very few lake associations have their own hall for association needs?

What is offered by the HLCA cannot be replaced by government services. It is very much in the interest of every property owner on Haliburton, Oblong and Ross Lakes to be a member of the Lake Association for the nominal fee. A healthy, vibrant, vocal Lake Association adds safety, convenience, and property value to every property on the Lakes, just ask a real estate agent.

This year with your membership you can get a free subscription to Haliburton Life Magazine and copy of Haliburton County Lake Health Report.

Our biggest 2017 initiative was the shoreline assessment program lead by the Coalition of Haliburton Property Owners Associations (CHA).

Almost 625 shoreline properties were assessed in May and into June. You should have received your private personal shoreline assessments. If you did not receive your confidential copy of your shoreline assessment, please contact President@haliburtonlake.com
